4. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those?  There was a wine sale at my Co-op, so I took a break and ran over there. 🙂
5. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far?  This is my 4th readathon, so not surprised yet. 🙂

And Then There Were None

Agatha Christie will always be the Queen of mystery.  I haven’t read it in YEARS, probably since high school.  I remembered the perpetrator but had forgotten all the details.  Just absolutely brilliant.  If you’ve never read it, I can’t recommend it highly enough! #readathon #Dewey

The Stolen Child

A beautiful novel by Lisa Carey, and my first finished book of the Readathon!!!

Full of beauty and magic.  Set on an island off the west coast of Ireland.  The island and the sea were so vivid and richly described, they were characters themselves.

Next up: And Then there Were None, by Agatha Christie.

First Read of the Day….

…is The Stolen Child, by Lisa Carey.  I’ve already been reading it, so I thought it would be a good choice to kick off the Readathon!  It’s wonderful so far, set in Ireland in the late 1950s, on a little island off the west coast, when a woman from America, Brigid, arrives.  She’s looking for the well of St. Brigid, known for its miracle cures.  But while she’s looking, she’s finding so much more.

Plus, there’s fairy lore and magic.  And it’s set in Ireland!!!!

Here We Go! Opening Survey for Readathon!

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?  Iowa City, Iowa!
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?  And Then There Were None, by Agatha Christie
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?  Grilled cheese sandwiches!
4) Tell us a little something about yourself!  I’m a librarian and I have 3 cats.
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? Try to stay up longer

If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?

Cheers everyone!
